| what a way to wake up and find you z on christmas day... i stayed in most of the day on to find my z had been broken into sometime between 2am and 5pm christmas day. the driver side window was smashed into the car, the bastards pulled out the center console... not unscrew it... simply pull the damn thing out, broke my turbo timer, stole my cd deck and probably broke the console since the clips came out and everything... rummeged through my car papers everywhere.... i think they only got my radar detector and my cd deck... i am not positive... it is hard to go by my car.... i simply put a car cover on her and said a quick apology.... here is the thing that pisses me off the most... the damn alarm did not go off. i had made the mistake before of opening the door from the inside when i had locked the car... simply by reaching through the window and flipping the button... the horn would sound, the lights flash... but nothing. i suspect that either when i had my car in the body shop (Rivercity for those in Austin - who were horrible by the way) or when i had the glass replaced... someone forgot to enable the theft system. i suspect rivercity since they forgot to connect a couple other things and got several other things wrong. i thought i had put the worst of it behind me.... but not i find that their lack of detail has cost me even more heartache. anyways, i filed a report and hopefully progressive will be by tomorrow... but oh how pissed i am. i thought tomorrow i might take the door panel apart and test the theft system to see if i can find why it does not go off.... the light is on and everything.... but when you open the door after flipping the switch from the inside.... nothing! NOTHING!!!! sorry, just a bit pissed and a bit hard to sleep... i want to go sit on the porch with the lights off and hope they come back by.... and i might if it were not so damn cold outside.... sorry for the long story.... but if you made it this far i have to thank you for listening. merry christma
